Spain
Globaledge.co.uk writes that the latest figures from the Spanish Government (Fomento) show that housing sales for some time has gone up and down like a yoyo.
However, the latest available figures show a slight increase in transactions in the second quarter of 2011 compared with first quarter, but it most apparent is that foreign buyers have been responsible for 23% of the total purchase in Spain.
The British buyers account for most of the trades, even though other nationalities have started to buy more.
The figures were confirmed by a press release issued by the Spanish government, which also shows that sales of new homes now account for 34% of the total market. However, it is less than half of compared to 2010 but is still a very large share of total sales compared to most other countries, the Spanish housing market is compared with. |
